Happy August, everyone!
This Sunday, August 4, a Summer Sunday Discussion will be held at 9:00 a.m. Worship will begin at 10:15, with the sacrament of communion being offered. A coffee hour and the Parish Nurses monitoring blood pressures will take place right after the service. Home Communion will be delivered at 1:00 p.m. Come to Silver Creek Metro Park for our Anniversary Picnic and Games anytime between 3-8 p.m.! We have a pavilion rented in the beach area for our use. When you arrive, you will need to give the staff person the names of all the people in your party and tell them you are with Christ Church. You will probably want to bring lawn/beach chairs, your own beverages, towels, sunscreen, etc. Water shoes are highly recommended because there are shells in the lake that can scrape the bottoms of your feet. Bring a snack to share. There are outlets in the pavilion to plug in crockpots, etc. Grills are also available, but please bring your own meat and charcoal if you would like to grill. Also if you have any lawn games you like to play (cornhole, volleyball, badminton, etc.), bring those with you. Pets are prohibited in the beach area, unfortunately. We are looking forward to a time of relaxation and fellowship before we say goodbye to summer. Directions to Silver Creek Metro Park can be found here.
Spiritual Council meets on Monday at 7:00 p.m.
The Bridging Team has a meeting scheduled for Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
On Thursday, the Governance and Ministry Team will meet at 6:00 p.m.
