Whew!  This has been one busy week.  I know a lot of you are feeling the craziness of last minute school projects, exams, field trips, preparation for graduation and parties, etc.  Hopefully, the lazy, hazy days of summer will be upon us soon and we can take a deep breath and relax a little.  In the meantime, here is what is happening at Christ Church next week...

Zumba is cancelled for tomorrow, May 25.

Sunday, we will recognize our graduating senior during worship.  A coffee hour will be held following.  Speaking of coffee hours, we would like to continue to have them throughout the summer, so if you are able to host, please sign up on the office bulletin board.

The office will be closed on Monday.

Wednesday will be a New Member Orientation at 6:30.  Chancel Choir will rehearse at 7:30.

Extra things I would like to mention:

  • "Take Out Church" boxes will be available in the Gathering Area on Sunday.  We know many of you vacation during the summer, and we wanted to give you the opportunity to take church with you as you travel.  Inside each box is an instruction sheet describing activities you can do to praise God, hear His Word, pray, and have fun & fellowship while you are away.  Just like you would if you were here at Christ Church!  The most important thing inside is a "Flat Jesus" which reminds us that Jesus is always with us no matter where we go.  Our hope is that you color your Flat Jesus and snap a picture with him.  Then post your pic to Facebook and "check in" to Christ Church, United Church of Christ, or email the pic to christucc@zoominternet.net and we will post it to Facebook.  We want to see all the fun places Jesus and you go this summer.
  • Hygeine Kit items are being collected for Church World Service. Items needed are: hand towels (no fingertip, bath, dish towel, or micro-fiber), washcloths, wide-tooth combs removed from the package, fingernail or toenail clippers removed from the package, bath sized bar of soap in the wrapper, toothbrushes in the package, standard sized Band-Aids.
  • Our candy collection box is filling up, but we will continue to collect more up until the parade (I hear Everything Surplus in Wooster has big bags of candy on sale for about $3 right now, if you happen to be headed that way).
