I can hardly believe it is October already!  Time is just weird these days.

We will offer Walk-Up Communion this Sunday, October 4.  It will be held from 10-11 a.m. outside of the Gathering Area doors.  Please note the time change.  The sacrament of communion is also in our recorded worship service, so be sure to prepare some bread and juice before sitting down to watch our service.

I will be taking a vacation day on Monday.  The office will be closed.

A Mission Team meeting is scheduled for Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom, and the team invites YOU to come.  The team wants to know your thoughts, ideas, brainstorms, or any input you have about the direction you would like to see the team go.  Anna Davidson is the new chair, and you can contact her with any questions you have.  I will email a link to the Zoom meeting on Tuesday, so everyone who is interested can log on.  If you don't receive an email from me, call the office on Wednesday, and I will send it to you in time for the meeting that night.

Next Saturday, October 10, we will hold our annual Bonfire & Hayride, starting at 5:00.  Safety measures will be in place.  It will be held at the same location we have met the last two years (field off of Back Massillon Road, halfway between Crown Hill and Rt. 57). Several bonfires will be burning as to practice good social distancing. Hayrides will be limited to a certain number of family units, so as many trips will be made as needed. Pre-packaged s’more kits will be passed out to all attendees. We are asking that you bring your own roasting sticks, lawn chairs, and masks. If you have a cornhole game or any other lawn game you would like to play, bring those. You may also bring your own hot dogs to roast, or anything else you would like.

If you haven't already, be sure to send in your Spaghetti Dinner order form!  The drive-through dinner will be on October 11.  The form is attached, if you need another.

Many of you have heard about OHuddle, the faith-based mentorship program which serves Wayne County Schools. Some of our church members serve as mentors.  The mentor/mentee pairs have begun meeting for this school year.  They have started an initiative called, "Pray for the Journey."  They are asking community members to pray for school aged youth.  If you are willing to commit to praying for one of their mentor/mentee pairs to have a healthy, safe and confident start to the year, please contact me in the church office.  Each of OHuddle's 445 students is represented by a card, and we at Christ Church have 50 cards/students to pray for.  You can stop in to pick up a card with a specific student to pray for or I can mail one to you.  They are asking that these cards be displayed visibly in your home or car window, so that their "huddle" may know the power of prayer.  A video from OHuddle explaining this better than I can, can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCwRLj3zPCY&fbclid=IwAR0BqfGclJexKwblJnTcd8eQ35MfVq5HuJFtHVMktkjBcRIH_9gsulOFDyE
