This Sunday, August 11, worship will begin at 10:15.  Following worship a coffee hour will be held in the gathering area.  We are going to try one last time to have our pool party Sunday evening.  Everyone is welcome to join in the fun at Orr Pool from 6-8 p.m.  Right now the weather forecast is looking pretty good, so let's keep our fingers crossed.

On Monday, Spiritual Council will meet at 6:30 with Consistory following at 7:00.

I have a sneaky suspicion that this lovely, cool weather we're having will break and it will be a bajillion degrees just in time for the start of school and after the pool has been closed for the season.  I guess that's just me looking on the bright side of things.  I'll enjoy this weather while we've got it.

Special Reminder: The memorial service for John Schantz will be held this Saturday, July 27, 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary.

Vacation Bible School is over and we had an energetic, great group of kids that learned all about the sacred gift of water.  We had a great time, so if you get the chance, ask the kids what they learned or what their favorite thing was about Bible school.  I can only imagine some of the replies you'll receive.  Thank you to all the volunteers who made this event the success that it was, and to the kids for participating!

Is it hot enough out there for ya?  I hope everyone is being safe and keeping hydrated.  Looks like if we make it through tomorrow we might get some relief.

Thanks to everyone who came out for the ice cream social last Sunday night.  It was a bit toasty out, but a good time was had by all.  A special thank you goes to Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Herr for bringing their street organ.  It is always the hit of the party and adds such a special touch to this annual event.

I just got back from dropping the newsletters off at the post office.  Did you know there is a link here on the website where you can view the most recent newsletter?  If you can't wait until your copy comes in the mail go ahead and check it out.  Also, if you are still receiving your newsletter through the mail, but would like to receive it via email, just let me know.  I send a link out once it has been published on the web so you can read it as soon as it is "hot off the press" so to speak.

Chat - 6/20/13

It's Thursday so time for another "Chat."

The office will be closed tomorrow, Friday, June 21.

This Sunday, June 23, the Youth Bell Choir will rehearse at 9:00 a.m.  Worship will begin at 10:15.  Youth Fellowship will meet at 5:00 (wear your paint clothes).  We still have two more Sundays to collect items for the People to People "Help a Family" drive, so while you're out shopping this weekend stick something extra in the cart and bring it with you to worship this week.

The Healing Service will be held on Monday, 7:00 p.m.

Rainy Days & Tuesdays

Pool party

Rainy days and Tuesdays don't usually get me down, but on Sunday night when the thunder and lightening started after about 20 minutes of swimming at the pool party, I must admit I was a little down.  Some of us came back to the church and played games while the rain blew in, so we ended up having a fun time anyway.  The good news?  Orr Pool kindly let us reschedule.  So mark your calendars for June 30, 6-8 p.mWe will have a pool party do-over!
