Everyone I have been talking to is telling me how busy this upcoming weekend is going to be for them.  Of course, when the weather turns nice, the calendar is full of things to do and places to be.  I hope my neighbors don't mind if our lawn doesn't get mowed until next week.  Anyway, here is what is happening at Christ Church...

Here is how next week is looking at Christ Church...

Sunday, Jan.25, the morning will start out as usual with Sunday school at 9:00 and worship at 10:15.  The annual Game Night will be held at 5:00 p.m.  Come shake off the winter blahs with food, fun, and a little competitiveness.  Bring your favorite board game (you know, the ones we used to play before we had all our games on our cell phones) or card game and a finger food to share.  Beverages will be provided.  Everyone is invited to join in the fun.

This Sunday, November 16, is Consecration Sunday, so remember to bring your pledge card with you to worship this week.  The Stewardship Ministry Team hopes you have taken some time to look over the Mission Plan brochure and prayerfully consider your 2015 pledge.  Following worship is a Third Sunday Potluck.  Everyone is invited to fellowship hall for good food and conversation.  Confirmation will meet at 5:00.

The Green Team and Christian Ed. will meet on Monday at 7:00 p.m.

Is your calendar filling up as fast as mine is?  September seems to sneak up on me, and then, boom!, before I know it, plans for fall are being made, sports are back on the schedule, reading logs need to be filled in, and the list goes on and on.  All good things, but I sure do like the lazy, laid back, summer evenings.  They went by way too fast this year.

The calendar here at Christ Church is filling up fast, too.  Let's get to it...

The newsletters are being mailed today, but if you have already read it online, you probably noticed the typo on the front page.  The Third Sunday Potuck will be held on the third Sunday (21st), not the 14th as printed.  Please note the correct date.

We will say goodbye to August this Sunday the 31st.  Sunday school for all ages will resume at 9:00.  Worship begins at 10:15.

The office will be closed on Monday, but Spiritual Council will still meet at 7:00 p.m.

This Sunday, June 29 (where did May and June go?), the morning will begin with Pastor Gehres holding one more parent meeting regarding the youth coordinator position at 9:00.  If you didn't make it to one of the previous meetings and would like to give your input, or if you did attend one of the previous meetings and have more thoughts to share, you are welcome to come.  Worship will begin at 10:15.  The New Jersey mission trippers will be leading us in worship, and then they invite everyone down to fellowship hall following the service for a specia

This Sunday, June 22, we will be recognizing and celebrating Sharon Nelson's nineteen years of faithful, dedicated, and enthusiastic service to youth ministry.  It is sure to be a meaningful and fun morning, showing Sharon appreciation for all that she has done at Christ Church.  Everyone is welcome to come down to fellowship hall following the service for a baked potato and salad bar in Sharon's honor.

The Youth Ministries Council will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Deaconesses meet on Wednesday, 7:00.

I am happy to report that the Costa Rica mission trippers have arrived home safely.  Thank you for your prayers for safe travels and a good week of work.  Some of the mission trippers will be in the gathering area following worship on Sunday to answer questions and chat about their experience.  They expect to present & relate more formally at a later time, so this is a chance to hear their initial and fresh-from-the-experience impressions.

Here's a quick "chat" before I run to the post office to mail the newsletters.  By the way, did you know you can read the monthly newsletters right here on this website?  Just click on the Christ Church banner at the top and that will take to you to our homepage.  Scroll down and you will see a box titled "newsletters"--click it.  It's that easy.  If anyone is still receiving their newsletter via postal service and would rather just read it on the website, let Elizabeth in the office know.  On to Sunday...
