Holy Week is upon us, with Palm Sunday this Sunday, April 13. Worship will recall Christ’s entry into Jerusalem beginning with a procession of palms and festive music. The service then moves to anticipate the coming days of Holy Week with a reading from Matthew’s Gospel of the Passion of Jesus. A coffee hour will be held following the service in the fellowship hall. Confirmation 2 and new mentors will meet at 4:00 to bake bread.
Consistory will meet at 7:00 p.m on Monday.
The Gospel of John study continues on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
The Carol, Chancel, and Bell choirs will rehearse on Wednesday. A Green Team meeting will be held at 6:30.
The Maundy Thursday service will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall with communion at the tables. There will not be stations of the cross as previously advertised. We will move to the sanctuary around 7:30 p.m. for the Tenebrae service.
A Community Good Friday service will be held at the Orrville Christian Church on Friday, 7:00 p.m.
Also on Friday--Newsletter deadline and Confirmation field trip (meet in parking lot at 6:15).
Christ Church is scheduled to provide and serve a meal at the Miller Avenue Church in Akron next Saturday, April 19, 10-2. We could still use some volunteers to come along and help serve. Also, if you are able to donate 2 dozen hard-boiled eggs or 2 dozens cupcakes for the group to take along, please sign-up on the office bulletin board.
