Just a reminder that the Governance and Ministry Team would like to have your input on Church Membership during the 9:00 Sunday school hour this Sunday, Oct. 13, in the Fellowshp Hall. All are encouraged to attend. Questions to be posed are: Why is membership important to a church? What does having members accomplish for a church? What does membership mean to individual members? How does membership work for your family? For your child attending college? How do you feel about periodically updating the membership rolls? Do we still need a membership provision in our constitution?
Also this Sunday, we will collect October's special offering for Neighbors In Need. Neighbors in Need (NIN) is a special mission offering of the United Church of Christ that supports ministries of justice and compassion throughout the United States. One-third of NIN funds support the Council for American Indian Ministry (CAIM). Two-thirds of this offering is used by the UCC's Justice and Witness Ministries (JWM) to support a variety of justice initiatives, advocacy efforts, and direct service projects through grants. Neighbors in Need grants are awarded to UCC churches and organizations doing justice work in their communities. These grants fund projects whose work ranges from direct service to community organizing and advocacy to address systemic injustice. This year, special consideration will be given to projects focusing on serving our immigrant neighbors and communities. Envelopes will be available in the pews/
Coffee hour will be held following worship, and the Ice Cream Club will try out the tasty treats at Bidinger's Ice Cream Shop in Wadsworth at 2:00. Invite a friend and come enjoy a Sunday afternoon treat! If you would like to carpool, please meet in the church parking lot at 1:30. Youth Fellowship will meet at 6:00.
Consistory will meet on Monday at 7:00 p.m.
Youth Council will hold a meeting on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
The Ladies Lunch Bunch will gather for the monthly get together at Buehler's, 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. All women are invited for a time of catching up and fellowship. Wednesday night brings Kids Club at 5:15, Bell Choir and Carol Choir at 6:30, and Chancel Choir at 7:30.
Friday is the last day to sign up for Fall Camp and it is also the newsletter deadline.
